Martial Arts

Mighty Monkees

Our Mighty Monkee program is specialized for 3 to 4 year olds and is designed to teach children life skills in a fun and exciting manner. Using “FUN-damental” exercises, our program will teach basic physical skills; these skills will provide a solid foundation when they transition to our Kids Taekwondo program. Each class is 30 minutes long.


Kids Taekwondo

This 45-minute structured program is offered daily to children of all ages. The program is based upon building real skills through “FUN-damental” drills. Coordination, balance, and motor skills are carefully cultivated and nurtured by caring instructors. The skills your child will develop in our program will enhance all aspects of their development - socially, academically and athletically. This program builds the foundation for meeting the requirements of Black Belt in the Olympic sport and martial art of Taekwondo.


Basic Martial Arts Training

This carefully structured bi-weekly Teen and Adult training program under the guidance of Master Perez, goes far beyond punching, blocking, and kicking. We help you acquire effective self-defense skills and provide you with a comprehensive, personal development program. We believe that being a Martial Artist is not just learning to kick and punch; it is the pursuit of personal excellence.


Gold Medal Family Class

Join your child in our Family Class. Our Center provides the perfect environment for parents and children to learn and practice together. During class, parents teach and help assist in the development of their child’s martial arts skills while reinforcing life-skills sets. The children then practice their skills while the parents learn new and more advanced techniques. This class is fun-filled and challenging for students of all ages. Come join the excitement and watch your children shine in the best seat in the house...the training mat!


Black Belt Club

The BLACK BELT PROGRAM is a special membership for those students with long term goals. These students have committed themselves to the task of achieving a Black Belt in martial arts. Members receive discounted membership opportunities, special weekly black belt training classes, extracurricular events, and access to special seminars, workshops, weapons training, board breaking, and self-defense training.


Judo

Judo is a brand new offering at Gold Medal. We're thrilled to have our program designed by Mike Swain, a 5-time Olympian. Mr. Swain will be overseeing the Judo classes with lead instruction by our own Michael Kim.


Fitness

KiDo – The Life Energy Workout!

KiDo, is a group cardio fitness class based upon movements meant to invigorate your life energy. KiDo incorporates elements of Taekwondo, boxing and boot camp set to high energy music for a calorie blasting workout. This total body workout is a progressive aerobic workout guaranteed to tone and define your body. Burn up to 800 calories an hour! Not only will it increase your cardiovascular fitness levels, it is a great stress reliever and confidence booster.


Cage Fitness by Matt Hughes

The ultimate training workout in just 30 minutes. The program is designed by 9-time Welter Weight MMA Champion Matt Hughes. Gold Medal is a licensed Cage Fitness training center. Our instructors will lead you through this action packed skill driven workout that is sure to chisel your body.

Gold Medal is the ONLY licensed Cage Fitness Training Center in San Mateo County!


Kickboxing Bootcamp

Improve or refine your basic punches, kicks, knees, footwork and kickboxing and MMA striking techniques. Learn basic defense drills, punch and kick combinations, shadow boxing with rounds on the heavy bags and pads combined with calisthenics, body weight exercises, plyometrics, jump rope, road work (runs), medicine ball training, pilates and yoga designed to challenge your fitness level. Use similar athletic and overall body conditioning methods employed by professional and top level amateur MMA, Muay Thai and K1 Kickboxing athletes. You'll work at your own personal highest intensity level for 45 minutes and improve your overall body composition and cardio conditioning.
